FAQ

About Dare
What is Dare?
A dating app where, instead of a like, you send a dare: a selfie taken now and a real question. The other person sees you only if they dare to answer.
Who is Dare for?
For adults, 18 and over, who want to meet real people, not polished profiles. And who haven't stopped playing.
Is Dare free?
Yes. Everything we describe on this site is free.
Dares
How do I send a Dare?
In the deck, swipe the card up or tap the Dare button. The front camera opens: take a selfie, pick a question from the list or write your own, and tap “Dare now!”.
Why do I have to take the selfie on the spot?
So the other person sees you as you are now. Gallery photos can be old or filtered; a selfie taken now can't. Your face has to be in the photo.
What happens when I get a Dare?
You see who dared you, with their photo blurred. You can answer with a selfie (Dare), in writing (Truth), later, or not at all. Once you answer, the photo shows for a few seconds and your conversation opens.
How long do I have to answer?
24 hours. If you tap “Later”, the dare waits another 24 hours in Recent Dares.
What is Truth?
A written answer to the question instead of a selfie.
How many dares can I send?
Up to 30 a day. Plenty for a person; too few for a robot.
Daredevil and chats
What is Daredevil?
A game you start in a chat only if you both want it. One of you proposes it, the other answers “Hell Yeah!” or “Angel me”. While it's on, the chat bar turns orange. If you go quiet for 12 hours and one of you writes again, the other sends a selfie first to see the new message.
Can I leave Daredevil?
Yes, at any time and on your own: tap the orange tab under the bar. The game stops for both of you.
What does the flame do?
You light it next to the paperclip before sending. A message or photo sent this way burns once the other person has seen it.
What does the lock on photos mean?
You can send a photo with a lock: the other person sees only a shadow until you open it. If they're curious, they can ask you to unlock it.
What is “True or false?”
A question game inside the chat. You both answer, and you see the answers only once each of you has replied.
Account and safety
What is Civil Mode?
A break. While it's on, Dare goes silent: nobody sees you in their deck, you lose nothing, and the dares you've received don't expire.
Who sees my photos?
Your profile photos are seen by people in their deck. Every photo is checked automatically before it reaches anyone, and photos with explicit nudity don't get through.
How do I report or block someone?
In the chat, open the three-dot menu at the top right: Report or Block. We read every report.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: App Settings → Delete account. You can also ask for deletion without the app; all the steps are on the account deletion page.
